Yep, it’s still me. I’d had the same blog design for a whopping five months (a record for me) and it was time for a change. Hopefully this new one will stick around, and I can swap out the color scheme, to satisfy my contentment issues healthy desire for change.
Look closely, because this new design has a touch of the symbolism in it. Can you figure out what it is?
(And, last thing, I must insert a disclaimer right here that my use of the color orange is purely for fall and is in NO WAY an endorsement of the University of Tennessee or the University of Texas. Thank you, and go Hogs.)
(P.S.–The winner of the Sheay B Camera Strap Covers giveaway was Jolanthe. Congratulations!)
I love the new look – so sleek, modern, and “clean”!
I like the new design…symbolism? not sure…does it have something to do with the 5 orange circles at the top? One for each member of the family maybe?
Six circles. Six in your family. And you, the color that stands out among them.
The circles at the top represent you and your four kiddies? And you’re the second one, because that’s where the blog title is?
I’m sure hope I’m right, or I guess I’ll get the I-Read-Too-Much-Into-Your-Blog-Design-And-Now-Our-Relationship-Is_Awkward award…
Cute! Nice new look for fall.
wow, you took the plunge! I have been wanting to change mine but I am so afraid folka will thik they issed my house and ended up somewhere else, what do you think, are my fears founded?
on another note, did you also get a new hairdo? or is that someone elses pic on your twitter page?
love and blessngs, Penny Raine

also, from here in TN, your orange looks brown š
blessins,
http://pennyraine.com/blog
Super sleek and mod. I too was going to say 6 circles, one for each family member and the title circle being you.
I like the new design. It reminds me of fall!
diggin the new duds! i am a fan of the retro look and the rusty orange color.
Love the new design! Very mod!
Looks fantastic – warm and cozy!
I love the new design! I love orange, all shades!
Wonderful autumnal design.
What font is that? Gorgeous!!!
I love the new simple chic look… very hot! Kinda iPod-y. Can’t wait to see what other colors come up that in no way endorse any teams.
I’m with Ryann on the symbolism. It represents your position in the Dryer family. : )
It’s a lovely orange, not quite representin’ either of those “T” teams. Very fallish, even tho’ I know it’s not your favorite season. It’s a fresh and fun change, Shannon.
I was just thinking Saturday as I clicked over from Google Reader that you’d gone a long time without a change, and I used to love all the different “dresses/duds” you’d display.
This is a keeper and a fun one!
Any chance the circles are you plus FIVE kiddos? You don’t have an announcement to make, do you?
Oh man, I totally stink at symbolism and just had to check the comments to see what it was! Nice new look. š
I like the font you used for your links.
Due to the new design of your blog and my sincere and well documented antipathy for burnt orange (*spit*), I regret to inform you that I will not read any posts until after Thanksgiving. I love you, but there are some things up with which I will not put!!
Much love. GO HOGS!!
Hubs
I was going to say it was the six members of your family, the circles are like rocks. However, I have to agree with the other TN resident, the orange isn’t close to the “Big Orange” we are used to here. BUT! It is a lovely fall orange. And since orange is my signature color, I would definitely wear it.
Lovely design.
Very nice! It’s so simple and clean and fall-like. Great work!
Cute new design.
Love it! I am so ready to change mine again and customize. Once I figure out what I want. :>)
easy breezy. one for each member of your family!
Does this mean a new WFMW button, too?
Well…. as far as symbolism goes…I agree with the rocks commentor and the number in your family. Just a guess. Being from Tennessee and living in Texas, the orange is nice but it is not the correct color for either school. I do love the design and love your blog.
Oh.Dear.Lord.
Hubs Dryer – that is just too funny!!
And – yeah on the camera strap!!
I am wanting to re-do my blog design and trying to figure out a graphic…but part of me thinks it is highly possible to over-think too. š
Jolanthe
I like it, A LOT! I love burnt orange. š I would say one for each child too, and then you. But maybe it’s more complicated than that? š
Thanks again for doing the giveaway! Congrats to the winner of one of my strap slip covers! How exciting!
*Shey*[B]
Please thank Hubs for making me laugh so spontaneously & so hard that I spit soda on my couch. LOL!! Good times, good times!
I was thinking the symbolism was circles, like rocks, as in, in your dryer? ;o)
Blessings, Whitney
are there new circles in your life?
blessings, Penny Raine
http://pennyraine.com/blog
The circles are dryer door windows. Like at the laundromat.
Love the new look… and yes, go Hogs! Last weekend was torture.
Looks great!!
Blessings!
Love the new look!
I was thinking the circles were representing rocks. Then someone else had to go get all fancy schmancy and notice there were six rocks in the title as in 6 Dryers. Oh well. Cool look and it loads MUCH faster than the old one on dial up, so thanks!
love the new look! so simple and classic.
Hey! I think it’s probably your family – Hubs, you, kids, pet?
number of people, and the circles look like dryer doors. and I thought that before I read the other comments :-).
hadn’t thought of the #2 dryer that is a different color being you though!
Of course the orange has nothing to do with those other teams – Go Cowboys!
Six dots for six of you in the family?
p.s. Go Horns! ; )
Oooh, I LOVE it. I especially want to know what kind of font that you’re using, but I like the color scheme as well, and though I would never have guessed there was symbolism unless you’d mentioned it, I do have to agree with other posters that I think it’s you and your family (you being the one in color – “out there”, in other words, putting your thoughts – or in this case, words – forward).
Whatever. That’s burnt orange and you know it. I always knew you were a Longhorn at heart. š
new duds are super.
hubs is ha-larioius (*spit*) that made me giggle.
Thank you for clarifying the color issue. Some of us worry, ya know!? GO HOGS! (love the “rocks” at the top of the page–am I right?)
I love it! Very fall and I am all about changes every now and then. I also follow you on twitter and had to check out your new design!
The circles are the rocks?
I’m so glad that you pointed out that it wasn’t affiliated with The Vols, YUCK! ROLLLLL TIDE! š
Oh, and it looks fantabulous!
I like it. The circles represent each member of your family, beginning with your husband, you, then your children. And I really like that idea. How cool.
Shannon, thank you for this beautiful homage to the #1-ranked football team in the country, I agree that they are superior to…oh, wait…just read that last line.
Love the new look!
I like it! Simple, yet festive.
Lovin’ it. Between you and Melanie, I’m craving a fallish look. Maybe I’d do well just to get my fall decorations out of the closet first?
Are the circles the rocks in your dryer?
Thank you for not endorsing the University of Texas.
Love,
An Aggie Fan
Ooh, I love the new look! Then again, burnt orange IS one of my favorite colors š
Nice look. And I get the 6 circles, with you being the one with your blog name in it.
Seeing as I’m all into random neural firings tonight, that reminds me of when I was pg with the twins and worrying I was miscarrying. I was making scrambled eggs. I cracked one for Donn, one for me, one for Elliot, and the next one was a double yolk! Wasn’t that fun?
hahah, I was totally trying to come up with some deep symbolism as in circles for the world, and life, the brown one for you and your story among other never ending stories in the world, orange for a peaceful glow of thanksgiving for the said circles of life all around us…then I read the other posts about you, your hubby, and 4 kids-that made more sense and made my brain stop hurting. š I really like the new fall colors and love how often you change up your blog!
I love it! I’m giggling though because I can’t hang on to a design (and sometimes a URL for goodnessake) for longer than 6 mos. Glad I am in good company on the design issues, I mean, taste. =)
The new look is great! I love the retro-style font.
Looks great!!
Oh…gosh…I LOVE it – your new design is so beautiful!!
Front load dryers. I’m so in love with them, I visit Lowe’s and drool, that’s Hubs and my idea of date night these days.
Love the colors. Around here we’d say the orange was for the Beavers (of which I am one, while my husband is a Duck.)
š
Cheers
Jamie
I’ve read your blog a few times, ran across it through another blog, and did NOT know you were a HOG fan!
My hubby and I our both alumni and we love our hogs! And we hates them Vols and smelly Longhorns š
Now if we can just beat Houston…
Also, I like your new layout. Very clever š
Beautiful autumn-y look. :o)
Awwww, you know what’s sweet? The first post I ever read on your blog was also your first post on the last design. So, thanks for five months of great writing… I’ve been completely entertained š
Love the new look – very modern. I like it! And I like the color – fall is the best time of year.
I’m painting my new kitchen orange. Am I nuts? I hope not.
I like your new blog design. Not that I didn’t like the old one, or the one before that, but Yes, change is good. I have contentment issues too.
Cute- nice and simple, and changing the colors out will be fun! š
Uh huh. Your latent desire to be a Longhorn had to come out sooner or later.
Don’t deny it, Shannon. Just go with it. You’ll feel better when you do.
Love your new design. Three words for ya: Hook ’em Horns!!!
Dawn from Texas
wow – my husband doesn’t even read my blog. š¦
nice new look. oh and my kids are being brainwashed to love texas orange but on occasion my family manages to sneak in and get them cute red outfits with a HOG on them. see i was born in arkansas but move to texas and married a texan…
Go VOLS! & BOOMER SOONER!!
I love it! Orange is one of my favorite colors š
