Sugarhouse Ink

In hopes of highlighting as many clever, creative, women-owned small businesses as possible (and my word, they’re everywhere!), I’m hosting a giveaway every Sunday here for the next several weeks.  I’m doing as much of my own Christmas shopping as I possibly can with savvy girls like these.

First up, I want to tell you about Sugarhouse Ink.  This is where I’m getting my family’s Christmas cards this year!  I’m having a hard time picking out exactly which one I’ll use, but I’m seriously considering this one:

Sugarhouse1

I’ll make my final selection once I manage to find a photographic moment in which all six members of this family are happy at the same time.  July, maybe?

Sugarhouse Ink (and I love that name, by the way, because, you know, sugar) designs personalized photocards.  And not just for the holidays, but for birth announcements, parties, and even wedding invitations.  Here are a couple of my favorites:

Sugarhouse2

Sugarhouse3

They also have a blog that offers some really excellent tips for taking good family pictures, which is handy this time of year.

Sugarhouse Ink is giving four readers each a $25 Sugarhouse Ink gift certificate.  To enter to win, simply look through their holiday designs (Christmas, Hanukkah, or New Years), and come back here to leave a comment saying which specific design is your favorite (note that the designs don’t have names, so just use the name of the family on the card, and let’s hope none of those families stop by here and completely freak out that we’re talking about them.)

I’ll draw four random winners from the comments section on Wednesday.  This giveaway is open to U.S. and international residents.

I like the Steven, Cara, & Liza. This is a great giveaway for this time of year. We are getting pics taken tomorrow. Thanks!

  2. NicoleK says:

oh, thank you for sharing this company! i love finding new places to get holiday cards =) My favorite is the Jones Family… but it was a tough decision over the Hardison family. Really love them both!

  3. Corey says:

I love the Christmas card from the Boyd family with the adorable little girl. I don’t know if it’s because the card is so cute with the tree or because I just want to eat that baby up!

  4. DIANA says:

I like the one on the last page of the Christmas cards with the funky Christmas tree on the black card from Tom, Marianne, Jacob and Henry. Those two little boys are adoreable!

  5. Vanessa says:

That was really hard to choose. I kept going back and forth. I think my final decision is the one with Jared, Emily and Hannah Blecker (under the Christmas section)

  6. Kristen Cheney says:

Thank you for sharing. I have been looking for cute Christmas cards. This site has some great ideas. I like Steve, Cara, Liza or the collage card with the Paynes or Jeff, Debbie, Ivin, and Emma.

  7. Megan says:

Well shoot. The one I like best is too small to read their names. I think it says Jensen Family 2008 with Merry Christmas bigger below that.
    Anyway, they are all cute!

  8. danana-banana says:

My fav is one near the very end – it’s brown with a cute tree made of holiday images & it has an adorable pic of two litttle cuties on the beach.
The only hard part would be getting a family photo!

  9. Rachel says:

My favorite by far was the antique looking one with brown in the middle and red on the top and bottom border. I couldn’t read the name though…

  10. Jenni says:

I LOVE “The Stone Family Wishes you” and under the photo “A Very Merry Christmas. It is a simple, yet ELEGANT design. Bravo Sugarhouse Ink! Thanks for the opportunity!

  11. Celia says:

I love these cards! My favorites are the Paynes, the Boyds and Tom, Marianne etc. (with the tree on brown background). Very cute.

  12. kelli says:

    OK.
I’m stuck between “Adam, Evan and Lilly” and “The Evans”.
Maybe I’ll have to do two this year.
(Wonder is I should do a ‘birth announcement’ about the new kidney when I get it … hmmmm … things to think about!. But would it be pink or blue?)

  13. Kitty says:

My favorite Christmas card is the one that says Jensen (I think). Hope we win as I am notoriously bad about writing Christmas cards and these would give me a much needed impetus.

  14. Shelly D. says:

They are all great. I’d want the Hardison family except I think we’d need seashells instead of snowflakes because we live in FL and our family pic this year is on the beach.

  15. Chris says:

Beautiful cards! I think I’d choose the Anderson Family, but my goodness it’s hard to select a favorite!

  16. Nikki says:

My favorite is definitely “Season’s Greetings Love, Tom, Marianne, Jacob and Henry” – brown card with the Christmas tree decorated with ornaments. Thanks for sharing such a great source for cards, invitations, etc.

  17. Ali says:

Okay, the “Let it Snow” card of Becky, Adam & Lily’s is not necessarily my favorite, but that baby is way too cute for words!

  18. Fiddledeedee says:

Adorable. I love the Christmas one with Blake, and the other two kid’s names just left my mind because my son keeps yelling, “I WANT ICE MOMMA, I WANT ICE MOMMA, I WANT ICE, MOMMA!”
    What was my name?

  19. Jen L. says:

I love too many of them to decide on one. If I win I’ll have a tough decision. But, I’ll pick one for the sake of the giveaway – it’s the one with 4 pictures from “Jeff, Debbie…”

  20. Jenni says:

The one with stripes, three pictures, and the “with love from Black, Emily, and Annie! Cuz, you know, I need at least three pictures to get my whole family in.
    Thanks for the chance, Shannon!

  21. Erin says:

I totally need to get on this. Thanks for the great site. I too have to look for photos first, but I think I like the Paynes. That way I would not have to find one pic where we all look great.

  22. Tracy Adcock says:

WOW! So many of those are SO cute! I really like the Hardison family Christmas picture on page 3 and the Payne family Christmas collage on page 2. Thanks for these giveaways! How exciting!

  23. Pam says:

I like the Stone family in the orchard. The card is red and white and has vintagey designs on it. Mmmmmm, it’s beautiful!

  24. Lindsey says:

Oh my word! What a fabulous giveaway! I love the Jansen family with Merry Christmas across the top and the red design down the side. Oh-so-very cute!

Wow, I love this give away! I like The Payne family one (the one with the collage of pictures) because I have three kids and it is nice to highlight them all and also the Stone family.

  26. Amber N. says:

the evans card is the cutest but I liked so many it was hard to pick one, like the andersons, the merry merry happy happy one and the Joy one.

  27. Holly says:

Too many to make a definite decision today before church on the spur of the moment- can I pick when I win? Thanks for the giveaway to me!

  28. Kathryn says:

Oh, I’m torn. I need a multi pic card and I really liked the Merry Christmas from ?, Debbie & Ivin and I can’t remember the little girls name either.. It was on the last Christmas page.. And one of the New Year’s ones too.. VERY sweet..

  29. Runningamuck says:

The Hardison family card (3rd from the last in Christmas section) is my favorite. And this year I’ll actually be able to use this! We are finally getting a family picture taken in a few weeks. I won’t even admit how long it’s been.
This is a great site! Thanks for the giveaway and for letting us in on another great small-business.

  30. Alisa says:

I like the McKay family card. I love the whole site however, it is truly difficult to choose! Thanks for another great giveaway.

  31. Erin says:

I like “The Stone Family wishes you a very Merry Christmas”. Although, it was hard to choose because there are so many great designs!

  32. Amy says:

I love the one with Blake, Emily, & Annie. Thanks for the tip. These are cute! Is it time to think about Christmas cards already???

  33. Butterbean says:

We’ve had a busy year, so I think I’d go with the Merry Christmas collage of the Payne family. Super cute!

  34. Leslie says:

I pretty much like all of them. If forced to choose though I would go for the one that says Happy, Happy Merry, Merry with the picture of the baby. Or maybe the one near the end that is brown with the christmas tree and the picture of the two boys sitting on the beach.

  35. Shana says:

My favorite was the red and brown with the family walking away from the camera. I think it said Jackson family….but my eyes just “ain’t what they used to be”.
    Thanks
    Shana

  36. Kaydee says:

I like a lot of them, but my favorites are probably the Payne and Johnson ones with all the photos. I’m having a baby in April too so that would be fun then.

  37. Karen says:

I love the one that says Merry Christmas in the middle and “the Paynes” in the bottom right hand corner with 10 small family pictures around the card.

  38. Daffodil says:

I’m loving the Clarks (New Years card) and the Phelpses (Christmas card). These are such fun, unexpected designs!

  39. Misty says:

I LOVE all of them…but especially the one that says “The Hardison Family”…the brown with the snowflakes – it’s just so pretty! And THEN I saw that you put it on the blog, too! Maybe Okies think alike? :o) Be blessed!

  40. Emily says:

Oh, I like the Evans & Jensen Family Christmas cards! I’m just looking for Christmas cards; what perfect timing!

  41. Valerie at Home says:

I love them all!, but especially the brown with the Christmas tree for Tom, Marianne, Jacob, and Henry. These are beautiful and I actually have my picture all ready and I’ve been searching different sites for the best card. Thanks for posting this!

  42. Rachel says:

I liked the one under the Christmas heading, the Jackson family…red with brown stripe. What a great link, thanks.

  43. Jennifer says:

I like the one you are leaning towards. :c)
I think I would choose either the Jensen on page two or #1 and #4 on page 3(neither have a family name, but have a list of family members).
    Great giveaway! Thanks! :c)

  44. Amy says:

I love the one with Tom, Marianne, Jacob and Henry. The brown background and dingbat tree are just adorable!!

  45. Aimee says:

WOW! Too many to name my favorite! I guess if I had to narrow it down I would say the brown with the tree (Tom and Marianne and family) as well as the brown with snowflakes (the Hardison family). Great giveaway!!!

  46. kim says:

I like the one–looks like it says Jackson Family 2008, but it’s in the grass so doesn’t show clearly. It’s maroon on top and bottom, with a brown leathery-look in the middle and it says Merry Christmas.

  47. Amber H. says:

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I have been surfing the photocard sites and seeing blah, blah, blah. I *love* these designs especially the one from Tom, Marianne, Henry and Jacob. It is perfect! I also love the first one in your post – I am a sucker for stripes. πŸ™‚

  48. swimminginlaundry says:

I love them all! If I MUST chose just one, then it’s the “Stone Family” that looks suspiciously like the “McKay Family”!
Thank you for introducing me to Sugarhouse Ink.

  49. Racer says:

    I have 3 faves.
    – tom, marianne, jacob, henry (brown with tree)
    – steven, cara, liza (joy)
-jared, jenny, finn (happy, happy…merry, merry)
    SO CUTE!!!

  50. renee says:

SO hard to pick! I like the brown and red one with the….Jensen?… family on it. Shoot! My eyes are going already, I cant read the name. It also says “Merry Christmas” on the bottom and has the same family picture as the McKay card in your post.

  51. Tina says:

There are so many beautiful ones there! I have to say the “JOY” with blue and brown and 3 pictures was one of my favorites.

  52. Brigid says:

    steff

  57. Becky A says:

Love the McKay family, with the red background. I think we may just do that. What easier way to get an “acceptable” picture to send out when there are many little kids with little minds of their own!!

  58. LeAnna says:

My favorite is the Jensen family, the one with the scroll thing on top, and the picture in the middle. I’ve always wanted to do Christmas cards like these…

  61. Valerie says:

I like the Christmas one starring the McGee family. And then I realized there was more than 1 page. I also like the Stone family and ever single one on the final page. I’m not good at narrowing things down. πŸ™‚

  62. Andrea says:

I love the christmas cards that are brown with the snowflakes its different from the traditional red and green.

  63. Hollie says:

There was so many to choose from, but I think I like the Mery Christmas card near the end, with 3 pictures at the top, and one of the entire in the middle. There was not a last name, but the names of the family members were:Jeff, Debbie, Ivin, and Emma.

I like the one with the McKay Family that is orange and brown, with Merry Christmas on the bottom. Thanks for the giveaway.

  65. Patsy Clairmont says:

I picked the same one as you. i love that the eye goes to the family unity and not necessarily one individual. Although I also like to visually see how each person has changed over the year. I love choices.

  66. Annie says:

I couldn’t read the last name, but the card with Jared Emily and Hannah was my favorite. So cute! If I win can I keep that family on there? It would be so interesting to hear the comments: “Wow, they’ve really lost some weight” and “Where do you suppose the other kids are?”

  67. Anna says:

I like the one with the Stone family. The one with red on the top and the bottom and them walking away from us in the middle.
I hope they aren’t mad at us! Yikes!

I was so happy to get a photographer that gave us a copyright free CD! Thank you for doing this WONDERFUL giveaway!

  79. Amy F says:

Love the site, I’m saving it to my favorites.

  81. Kristen says:

I like the one with red and green stripes (The Payne family). Also, I liked the one that said “Merry Christmas” and “Happy 2009” – very clever to include both sentiments on one card!

    Hope I win!
If you get your photos done at Target or what-have-you can you have it done through sugarhouse? Just curious. Hope I don’t sound completely ignorant, I just have never done the online picture thing. It would be a new adventure for me.
